INTER MILAN SIGN ANWAR EL GHAZI
Italian side, Inter Milan have reportedly beaten off a host of competition to secure the signature of Anwar El Ghazi from Ajax.
The club was resolute in the bid for the youngster. The 20-year-old, who joined Ajax in 2012 after spending time at Feyenoord and Sparta Rotterdam, has been linked with a number of clubs in recent months, including The Red Devils in England.
Much earlier this year, fellow Italian side, AC Milan also revealed that they were interested in the Netherlands international, but Milan have lost out to Inter Milan, who have reached an agreement with El Ghazi’s Dutch club according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The young attacker, who has a tough job to do at Inter, has scored 11 times in 33 appearances for Ajax this season. Inter Milan’s victory over Udinese was the first ever Serie A match with no Italians starting for either team.
Striker Stevan Jovetic scored a brace as Inter Milan came from a goal down to boost their chances of remaining in the top four. Cyril Thereau volleyed Udinese ahead, with Jovetic equalising from Mauro Icardi’s cross. Jovetic chested in Jonathan Biabiany’s cross before substitute Eder scored in injury time to seal the win. The win helped Inter total 64 points from 35 games this season. They are in the race to make the top three as they battle AS Roma who are ahead by seven points.
Inter Milan would have been in a much better position but with their poor run of games including losing to Torino at home by 2-1. They defeated Frosinone in an away match subsequently and even defeated second-placed Napoli. However, they fell to a disappointing loss to Genoa that left them fighting for UEFA Champions League qualification spot. They face Lazio next in the Serie A.
